Our People

Susan Harding

M.A.(Hons), DipClinPsych (NZ), MNZCCP Certified EFT Couples Therapist | Certified Supervisor
Susan has been working in private practice in Auckland since 2000, and has been a clinical psychologist since 1992. Prior to returning to New Zealand, Susan spent 7 years working in the UK, where she gained extensive experience in the National Health Service (NHS), addressing a wide range of adult mental health issues.

During her time in the UK, Susan undertook ongoing training in Cognitive Therapies, including Schema Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. She also supervised trainees in these modalities, further enhancing her expertise. Additionally, Susan trained for 5 years in an integrative body psychotherapy approach, which she now seamlessly integrates with her Cognitive Therapy framework.

Since 2008, Susan has been intensively training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT), and is now an ICEEFT Certified practitioner in this approach. She finds this work to be highly effective and rewarding, and also serves as a supervisor in training. Susan is the facilitator for the popular Auckland Hold Me Tight couples workshops, which utilise the principles of EFT.

Concurrently, Susan has been working with EMDR and receives ongoing supervision in this modality, further broadening her therapeutic skillset. When working with individual clients, Susan employs a cognitive framework, seamlessly integrating other evidence-based approaches as appropriate to best serve the unique needs of each client.
